Art, Music, and Meditation at Teen Issue's Day

Sam's alma mater, Maranacook Community High School, offers two days a year for students and staff to bond together called Teen Issues Day. This year's theme is Love Each Other and Yourself. The day provided workshops and keynote speakers on this theme. Sam's passion for art, music, and meditation inspired the spring session. There were multiple workshops that focused on art. One particular session had the students paint their own renditions of Sam's work. Another session had the students meditating to Sam's favorite artists, Simon and Garfunkel.

The Gallery in Readfield showing the work of Maranacook Art students

The gallery show has the name Sustenance and Joy assigned to it. The title was chosen to remember a classmate who passed away this year, Sam Sessler. It very much describes this student’s positive outlook on life and his attitude that art provides important guidance and sustenance through life’s hardships. With art and creativity, it is a way that people can work to focus energy on solution-based experiences that do so much more than enrich our lives.

Thank you The Gallery in Readfield

The 13 inches of snow did not hinder The Gallery in Readfield's attendance. Thank you Jeremy for honoring Sam and inspiring your students to create.
