"The theme of my work is fun. People are too sad, we need a little happiness. I hope people find a little joy from my work."

In Memory

Samuel Marshall Sessler (9/02/2006-1/17/2023) is our best friend. If you ever had the privilege to meet Sam, your life was forever changed. Sam was an artist, activist, straight-A student, lover of nature, and pursuer of knowledge. He had a way with words that brought people to tears, always creating something beautiful. He is the funniest and strongest person that ever has been or ever will be. He was still the most compassionate, kind soul through his own hard life, changing the lives of others with disabilities through his trailblazing. He advocated for disability rights, social justice issues, and the planet as an active member of the Civil Rights Club and Student Senate and excelled in any class he took. If you want to feel Sam in your heart, find the best place for acoustics in your home (Sam recommends a corner) and listen to The Only Living Boy in New York by Simon and Garfunkel, or meditate on the beauty of your ceiling’s architecture.

A Special Thank You

Thank you to all of Sam's teachers and friends at Maranacook High School. You allowed him to soar, especially Sam's dearest friends in his Advisee Group. Sam loved you all.
